Faculty Initiatives on Teaching and Learning

Faculty Initiatives on Teaching and Learning

By embedding practical scenarios into classroom instruction, students are exposed to complex decision-making environment that enhance their analytical thinking, strategic reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.

Faculty members have also developed original case studies rooted in contemporary business contexts. These cases reflect diverse industry challenges and are tailored to aligned with fostering experiential learning and critical engagement.

  • Business Simulations

Business simulations place students in a variety of real-world business situations where they will need to use the knowledge they have gained to make judgments under time constraints. At VMPIM, we have a simulation from Harvard Business Publishing Education that fosters students' active learning, strategic thinking through improved skills in critical thinking and leadership.

  • Technology-Enhanced Learning

As part of GUNI-VMPIM’s commitment to experiential and technology-enabled learning, faculty members actively integrate modern digital tools and platforms into their course delivery.  This initiative is designed to enhance student engagement, foster analytical competencies and ensure alignment with industry-relevant practices.

To complement classroom teaching, faculty members organize targeted workshop that provide hands-on exposure to essential data analytics and visualization software. These workshops are aligned with course objectives and are conducted by subject matter experts on topics like "Python for Financial Analysis", "Tableau for Managers", “Text Analytics”, “PLS-SEM using SmartPLS 4”, “Power BI” etc.  Excel spread sheet help students to sharpen their analytical skills and help them to learn data driven decision.

Additionally, all classrooms are equipped with interactive panels and digital resources, enabling dynamic teaching and collaborative learning environments.

  • Role play

At GUNI-VMPIM, faculty members actively employ ‘role play’ as an innovative teaching strategy to foster experiential learning and enhance student engagements in the classroom. Role play exercises are thoughtfully designed and assigned by faculty to simulate real-world business scenarios, enabling students to assume professional roles and perform critical thinking and decision making.

  • Project-Based Learning

At GUNI-VMPIM, faculty members design and assign structured project aligned with course outcomes, ensuring students engage deeply with course content through analysis and solution development. Faculty members in certain courses assigned course-specific projects that reflect contemporary business challenges and sectorial trends. These projects are embedded within the curriculum and span individual or in groups. Project based learning gives practical exposure and hands-on experience by doing that students acquired research acumen.

The institute ensure the innovations in teaching and learning made by faculties are available on website where specific section “Teaching and Learning Innovations” is created. This section includes representative session plans; case studies developed by faculties, experiential learning exercises, respective power point presentations for further download and use etc. We also promote this website page [https://vmpim.guni.ac.in/] among student groups for wider visibility and use. The institute also provide a google form link for peers or external students who can share their feedback if any.
