The MoneyBees Finance Club organized a workshop on
Introduction to Econometrics and R as a method and programming tool for
financial analysis. The resource person for the workshop was Dr Abhishek
Parikh, Professor and Head GUNI-FMS-VMPCMS and Associate Dean-GUNI-FSSH with
more than 20 years of rich experience in industry and academics. The students
learned about econometrics as a method to analyse and assess various financial
risk and managing the same with the statistical analysis. The workshop
contributed to the understanding about the application of statistical methods
to financial market data. Financial econometrics is essential for risk
management when it is important to know how often 'bad' investment outcomes are
expected to occur over future days, weeks, months and years. The R program
enables the data analysis and for various statistical methods. Total 26
students participated in this workshop and benefited from it.
